Soul Sessions x Hanes After Hours

Hanes Art Gallery invites the Wake Forest campus and Winston-Salem community to Soul Sessions: Art as Liberation × Hanes After Hours: an evening of music, art-making, and dialogue centered on creativity as a tool for expression, reflection, and liberation. Presented in partnership with the WFU Black Student Alliance, The Intercultural Center, The Women’s Center, Wake The Arts, and ZSR Special Collections, the program brings together artists, students, and community members for an immersive celebration of creative exchange.
The evening begins at 7:15 PM in Scales Fine Arts Center, Room 112, with the keynote conversation, Soular Child: Constructing Your Creative Playground, featuring visiting multidisciplinary artist and director, Arial Robinson, A graduate of North Carolina A&T State University, Robinson works across film, photography, writing, art and fashion direction, print design, and sound art. Her practice explores storytelling, identity, and the ways creative work can serve as both personal inquiry and collective empowerment.
From 8:00–10:00 PM, Hanes Art Gallery and the Lower Scales Lobby transform into an after-hours creative space featuring a live DJ set by Claire Crawford, a zine-making workshop with Robinson, a hands-on art activity led by the WFU Women’s Center, a ZSR Special Collections pop-up exhibition, exhibition tours throughout the evening, and light refreshments. Guests are welcome to come and go as they please.
