Hanes After Hours – March

Join us for March’s Hanes After Hours! Once a month, we keep the gallery doors open late for an evening of creativity and connection. Enjoy live music, performances, hands-on art activities, and light refreshments as you explore the gallery’s exhibition in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. This free event is open to everyone!

Special thanks to Triad Cultural Arts for their partnership in this event. They are a nonprofit cultural arts organization presenting programming relating to Black American history and culture. They will be presenting a combined DJ set and history lecture with Claire Crawford, History Off the Decks, exploring Black music through the ages with a focus on area natives such as The 5 Royales and Shirley Caesar.

Additionally, Renee Andrews, “The Story Lady”, will share a reading, followed by a spoken word and poetry open mic for interested writers and performers.

Also included is an engaging demonstration of a Provisional Press with Sawtooth School of Visual Arts—we’ll explore the art of letterpress alongside the playful creativity of Lego printmaking! Perfect for beginners and seasoned makers alike, this hands-on experience will guide you through the basics of setting type, inking, and pressing your own prints.
