Artist Statement (excerpt) The paintings in this show are very much about resurfacing, both literally and figuratively. When I first began to paint on carpet, it was fascinating to learn how the surface of the material could manipulate my paint and how I could use my paint to alter the surface. The most compelling feature was the richness produced by layers of paint and the raw, grainy quality that those layers brought to an image.....
