Exhibition Proposal from Artist
My drawings and installations combine different systems for modeling and interpreting nature, from the romantic to the scientific. Recent monochromatic ink drawings combine computer generated wire-frame models with collaged landscape images. The wire-frame forms are modeled from different sources, including biometric and geologic data, and create an undulating ground over which drawings of the aftermath of a storm or the detritus I observe in my industrial Brooklyn neighborhood are overlaid. Stylistically, the works are heavily influenced by classical Chinese painting..
