By the age of 33, Mary Leigh Cherry and her partner Philip Martin have created one of the top-tier art galleries in Los Angeles, Cherry and Martin. Since 2006 their artists have been included in prestigious institutional exhibitions at the Whitney Museum of American Art (New York), The Hammer Museum (Los Angeles), and the Contemporary Art Museum, St. Louis, as well as at international art fairs in Basel, London, Berlin and Turin. Reviews in Artforum, Art in America, Art Review, Tema Celeste, Frieze, Modern Painters and Art on Paper all point to a gallery on the cutting edge of global contemporary art. In this exhibition, The Charlotte and Philip Hanes Art Gallery will spotlight six artists from her gallery’s program: Brian Bress (video) Nathan Mabry (sculpture and photography), Ruby Osorio (drawing and lithography), Antonio Adriano Puleo (painting), Amanda Ross-Ho (mixed media/installation) and Augusta Wood (photography).
